Innovest Analyst Eric Kane Comments on Effects of Potential Carbon Caps on Utilities' Shareholders

13 April 2008 - A Sunday New York Times article entitled "Sizing Up the Utilities, if Carbon Caps Take Hold" examines the impact of federal regulations that could limit the carbon emissions on Utilities companies and their shareholders. Innovest Senior Analyst Eric Kane notes, “It’s unlikely these companies will be able to pass all the costs down to consumers,” he said. In the end, he said, there will be an effect on shareholders.

Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius says Innovest Sunflower report shows the "likelihood of carbon costs and how that changes the cost-effectiveness of coal-fired power."
